Blakehurst Academy was established in 1996 and caters for ages from 3 years through to adults. Here at Blakehurst Academy, we provide a safe and disciplined, yet enjoyable and creative environment for everyone to dance. There is a class for everybody at Blakehurst Academy! No matter what age or skill level, Blakehurst Academy is a place where you can come and feel comfortable. Our dance community is something that we are very proud of and friendships are strong throughout all the age groups. Our students are taught by experienced and passionate teachers who hold qualifications in their respective fields. We hold an End of Year Concert and have annual Examination Sessions for those who wish to take part. All students are encouraged and given the opportunity to reach their goals whilst enjoying learning to dance. We have a Junior, Intermediate and Senior Performance Class where students are invited to join upon successful audition. These classes have a variety of opportunities to perform throughout the year – from Festivals to Competitions and Eisteddfods. By auditioning, this helps the student learn about the audition process for the future. Blakehurst Academy conducts classes in Classical Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Contemporary, Musical Theatre, Hip Hop, Stretch and Conditioning, Tinytots, Acting for Stage and Screen, Singing and Acrobatics. We provide a fun and comfortable environment for adult students to attend classes in Tap, Jazz and Ballet/Contemporary and private tuition for all ages is also available by appointment. We are passionate about what we do and place a high emphasis on strong technique through correct training. All music, costumes and choreography are age appropriate.
